Here’s a nifty tool for slicing cucumber, radish and carrot for a lot of Chinese cold dishes and for garnish.
I use it to slice cucumber for my Liang Mian Cold Noodles. I could slice cucumber and carrot by hand but this gadget brings out more even strips.
I compared it with the Veggetti spiral peeler and the julienne peeler works better for my purpose. The Veggetti works like a pencil sharpener and when cutting cucumbers, it peels right down to the seeds, which gets too wet and juicy.
With the julienne peeler, I stop peeling when it reaches the juicier, seeds.
