Just a quick post on some Valentine snacks for my neighbor’s daughters.
Jesu, my old school friend, sent this cute video on some cute foods that can be made into hearts so I had to try them out.
Use grape tomatoes and cut to shape. Hold together with picks.
On how to make the heart shaped egg, check out my older post by clicking here.
The last time I used a chopstick to hold the top of the heart down. This time I used a metal skewer. I think the chopstick works better.
Sikander, a team member at my nearby Harris Teeter in Merrifeld, Va, made my day this morning. I was looking for cocktail sausages to make hearts the same way I was going to do the tomatoes. The young man led me first to the canned meats section. I wasn’t sure about those sausages. He led me to the frozen section. Those were like starter sausages with pastry. Naw.
He took me all the way to the meat section where another friendly guy came out immediately to lead me to the hotdog fridge and I found them.
“You guys are so nice!” I said. “I love Harris Teeter!”
Without missing beat, Sikander responded: “We love you too!”
Aw….
